Also another place that is fun, is large open fields near old homesteads or farms, just make sure if people are living there you get an ok, most people are really nice about letting you on their property to look for treasure. The reason I pick public places, is that they are easy to get to and they have heavy foot traffic. Look in your area for a local coil and diggers club, then you can meet more people with the same hobby, get great advise and have a lot of fun making new friends and enjoying your hobby.
