You are absolutely correct!! Just arrive at the airport earlier than normal because they will make you walk through the detector a couple of times, and then they will have to pat you down and wand you!

I would get a note from your doctor so they won’t have to strip search you…just saying it’s a good idea.

Very powerful. BUT: They are also adjustable, and usually the sensitivity is turned way down. Otherwise they’d have to wand everyone with a wedding ring, metal-framed glasses, metal braces or bridgework, or snaps and rivets on their trousers, at which point it would be faster to skip the walk-through and wand everyone.
They’re looking for big hunks of metal, not tiny ones. What you have probably fits somewhere between the two. So it”ll probably set off the detectors at at least some airports, and very possibly not at others. It’s not a big deal, they’ve seen it all before. Just be sure to allow yourself plenty of time.
