Well first off… I hope I got the names right. Metal detectors are those things by the doors of department stores… target… barnes and noble, etc. right?

What are some typical items that would cause the alarm to go off. Whenever I walk in or out of a store someting in my bag will occasionally make it ring. This has happened at American Outfitters… Barnes and Noble… Target… and a few other places.

Help it gets annoying! and no i’m not stealing >.<

Where can I go metal detecting legally? Please don’t sugest the beach as I don’t live anywhere near one – I’m thinking woods, fields or footpaths? If a footpath is marked ‘public ‘ will I be told off for trespassing? How do I know if a field is owned by someone?
Oh yeah, I probably should have added – I live in the UK just east of London. Sorry!

ok i just bought these sneakers and the idiot behind the cash register forgot to take that black thing that sets of the metal detectors i dont know what its called but instead of just going back to have them take it off i was wondering if there was a way you can take it off???
by the way does anyone know the name of that black thing???

my first find was at a fairground but the soil was very hard, it’s a hobby i’ve wanted to do seriously but having a hard time getting motivated.
